Falling Asleep To Exciting Playoff Action
This image was lost some time after publication. We were flipping through our newspaper this morning — sorry, sometimes we actually like to read printed things — and glanced at the schedule for the remainder of the Cardinals-Padres series. They will be playing Game 2 at 4 p.m. today — we'll be live-blogging the game, and we promise to actually finish this time — and will head to San Diego for Game 3. And what time does that game start?
Would you believe 11 p.m. Eastern? No, seriously: that's what time they're really starting. If it's like every other playoff game, it will last past midnight ... Pacific time. Imagine if it's an extra inning game. It is very possible that if you go to a bar to watch this game, the bar will close before the game ends.
We know this is the series MLB expects to get the lowest ratings, but they don't even start crazy late-night Idaho-Boise State games at 11 p.m. On the whole, we think people make too big of a deal out of the late starts of playoff games. But 11 p.m.? Man.
