For Your Sunday Afternoon Viewing Pleasure...

For the first time in the history of the NFL or television, there's a double-doubleheader on today. It's just a shame that Fred Smoot's not going to be around to take part. To see which four games you're getting today, peruse today's NFL Schedule, and then have a peek at today's NFL TV distribution maps.

But other than the NFL, with the exception of a few scattered college basketball games, the sporting landscape seems to be taking the day off. Seriously. Look:

12:00, ESPN Classic. MLB Baseball. 2006 San Diego Padres @ Los Angeles Dodgers. Because New Years Eve makes me think of one thing: Football.
1:00, Fox Soccer. Premiership. Chelsea vs. Fulham. Here's the upside to you not following soccer: I mentioned this game yesterday, but you didn't read it, so you don't know who won ... which means you can enjoy this one. Sweet.
1:00, NFL Network. Make Your Own Super Bowl Ad. Who's watching this instead of actual football...
1:00, Fox Sports. College Basketball: San Jose State @ Duke. Actual sporting event. I guess FSN doesn't get a chance to show Duke very often.
3:00, Fox Sports. College Basketball: Dayton @ North Carolina. See above.
3:00, Fox Soccer. High School Soccer. 2006 West Coast Classic Final. Not only is it a high school soccer game, it's a replay of a high school soccer game. Someone's going to get fired.
5:00, Fox Sports. College Basketball: Washington @ UCLA. This appears to be the one non-NFL event taking place this afternoon that's worth watching.
