I know I sort of covered this in the last thread, but the whole reason the Sonics are owned by Bennett and Co. is because the previous owner couldn't get the city to pay for a new arena.
This previous owner was the same douchebag who has caused us to put up with high-priced coffee on every street corner, and could easily pay for it himself.
BTW, why rent when you can own? I would appreciate an answer from someone familiar with stadium leasing...
