It's been an active day for the Cowboys' owner, after his sloshy Parcells/Tebow rant became a top story throughout the Dallas area and was even deemed talking head-worthy by the WWL. Take it away, Lovely Hannah.
Now, to the origins of the video. According to Super Source, the video was shot last Thursday at a Ocean Prime in Dallas. The amateur videographer did, according to said Super Source, try to sell the footage but got no takers. We did not pay for it, either. It was offered as a gift, like frankincense and myrrh, but I admit that we would have paid our standard $17.63 if the person wanted compensation. It's that good.
What will Jerry Jones do now? Many in the Dallas area know that he doesn't like playing the fool and will go to great lengths to make sure that doesn't happen again. So don't be surprised if there are hillbilly henchmen trying to sniff out who filmed Mr. Jones mouthing-off.
Overall, though — I'm a little shocked at how much pick-up it got. Jones didn't say anything too controversial and his assessment of Tebow has been the opinion of most NFL GMs and draft soothsayers for the past six months. But I think you can safely cross-off Dallas as a potential landing spot for Young Tim. No mammoth fucking rake for Jerry Jones. Not through Tebow, at least.
I'll be heading out to PDX for the next few days, but I'll pop-in if anything's newsworthy. Enjoy the 100% DAULERIO-free Deadspin until Tuesday.
And, as always, thanks for your continued support of Deadspin. Barry in a second.
