Here's Video Of A College Catcher Almost Throwing A Baseball Through A College Pitcher's Neck
When University of Florida catcher Mike Zunino flung the ball toward second base during yesterday's game against Georgia, it's not like he meant to nail his sophomore pitcher Brian Johnson behind the ear or anything. He just did.
After regaining consciousness (and motion), Johnson left the field on a stretcher and was diagnosed with a concussion at a hospital before returning to the team hotel.
Coach later said Zunino "felt awful" about the whole thing. The Gators split two with Georgia yesterday to advance to today's SEC Conference Finals against Vanderbilt. For what it's worth, Florida won 5-0; it was the second shutout in conference championship-game history.
