Today's FA Cup clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers was suspended after Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch and was given CPR in the first half of the match.
The London Guardian reported Muamba was not breathing as he was taken off the pitch in a stretcher while Metro says the 22-year-old is "fighting for his life." The resuscitation attempts lasted ten minutes onfield as medics reportedly used a portable defibrillator. Sky Sports described the scene as "shocking silence."
Update (4:10 p.m.): Sky News is reporting that Muamba's breathing has been restored and he is currently in stable condition at (a) hospital.
