The Russia/Brazil Basketball Game Ended On This Wild Three-Pointer
The Russians led by 11 at one point in the third quarter, but they blew it. Enter Alexey Shved and Vitaliy Fridzon. Trailing 72-67 with 26 seconds to go, Shved scored five straight points to tie the game. But Brazil went back in front when Marcelinho Huertas scored on a layup with 6.1 seconds left. And then Shved found Fridzon in the corner off the inbound. Brazil's Leandro Barbosa appeared to slip—or deliberately wipe out—and take out Fridzon's legs as he shot. But Fridzon wasn't fazed. He buried the shot, and the Russians remained unbeaten in pool play.
