The Vikings pull of the upset! So if the Vikings beat the Niners, and the Niners beat the Packers, and the Packers won the Super Bowl—you guessed it: Brett Favre is returning to the Vikings.
The Vikings got solid performances from Christian Ponder and Adrian Peterson (although some might quibble with 25 carries to get 86 yards), so here's Christian Ponder doing Adrian Peterson things, running home a score in the second quarter to put the Vikings up 11.
Though San Francisco would come within four in the third quarter, Minnesota answered back and then no one did much of anything in the rest of the fourth quarter. Ponder stood tall—unphased—and Alex Smith (who threw his first interception in 249 passes today) followed up his strong monday night performance with not-so-great outing today. (2-1) Vikings 24, (2-1) 49ers 13.
That was an ugly Kluwe punt. Low and wobbly. Just 35 yards and then a 16-yd return.— Dan Wiederer (@StribDW) September 23, 2012
Kluwe? A rebuttal? What bodily fluid does Dan Wiederer gargle? He's baiting you, dude!
