Despite Venezuelans playing in Major League Baseball since 1939, and Venezuela's finishing ahead of the U.S. in the last World Baseball Classic, Cabrera still gets treated like a gold-medaling Jamaican bobsledder.
Even the article's kicker plays up the non-existent ethnic angle:
