In 1938, The Dumbass Hurricane Bros Were Badass Senior Golfers
Hurricane Sandy is the biggest storm to hit the Northeast since the 1938 New England Hurricane ripped through the region, killing hundreds and causing millions in property damage.
Not that Findlay S. Douglas—former head of the USGA—or Richard S. Francis gave half a fuck. The pair were the only two to refuse a delay at the Senior Tour Championship the day the storm struck, and while they both shot a 90+, for a brief shining moment they held the lead over 143 cowards.
1938, when catastrophic hurricanes were "downpours," and Senior Tour golfers had some hair on their chests. Two of them, anyways.
