The Sporting News Is Going Online-Only

The Sporting News announced today that they're done with their print magazine—they'll be all-digital from now on, aside from a handful of sport preview yearbooks. There's not a whole lot to say about this change (aside from the unpleasant reality that some layoffs presumably accompany it). If nothing else, TSN has been through this before: They cornered the market for national box scores in the late 19th century before disruption from USA Today finally arrived in the 1980s. Now the decay of print advertising has killed off their regular magazine. But, hey, they can't be in terrible shape: They still employ this guy!
