Well, she was most definitely not exaggerating. Serena Williams hobbled through two injuries during her quarterfinal loss to Sloane Stephens at the Australian Open two days ago. Williams was overheard on parabolic microphones telling a trainer that this has been the "worst two weeks." She said in her post-match presser that her back was killing her and that her ankle was "like this big," holding her hands a couple of feet apart. She could have held them even wider. Williams thinks her back started to hurt because she was trying to "compensate" for the large melon that had sprouted where her ankle used to be.
