Angels Reliever Rescues Injured Pigeon During GameS

When he noticed a wounded pigeon near the Angels' bullpen last night in Oakland, reliever Dane De La Rosa sprang into action. He was determined to bring in the injured bird to safety.

At first, De La Rosa grabbed the pigeon and walked it back to the bullpen, sitting with it cupped in his hands in front of him. But that wasn't going to cut it. With the game still going on, De La Rosa made his way toward the Angels' clubhouse. When he reached the dugout, he got quite a WTF reaction from teammate Collin Cowgill before walking behind manager Mike Scioscia and into the clubhouse.

De La Rosa even named his new little buddy before making sure the poor thing was OK.

Handling a pigeon in this way really isn't bad for you. And De La Rosa made sure to scrub his hands after he freed Randy outside the stadium.

De La Rosa later went out and retired the A's in order in the eighth to help the Angels win.
