Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Charged With DUI

Mike Budenholzer's tenure as the new head coach of the Atlanta Hawks isn't exactly off to a roaring start. The former Spurs assistant was arrested early Thursday morning in Atlanta and charged with a DUI.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Budenholzer was pulled over by a state trooper for not having functioning tail lights. The trooper smelled alcohol on Budenholzer's breath, administered a field sobriety test, and then arrested him. Budenholzer refused to take a breathalyzer.

The Hawks have released a brief statement to WSB's Zach Klein in response to Budenholzer's arrest:

“Bud made us aware of the situation last night. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.”
