The ladies' super-G competition today in Sochi was a farce, with seven of the first eight competitors failing to reach the finish and a total of 18 registering DNFs on a terrible course covered with what can only generously be called "snow."

Switzerland's Lara Gut, a favorite, called the course "a disaster" in the competition won by Austria's Anna Fenninger. Among those crashing out was Dominique Gisin, who won gold in downhill earlier this week. Temperatures in Sochi reached 64 degrees today.
