Chad Johnson hasn't played in the NFL since being cut by the Dolphins before the 2012 season. Now the 36-year-old is attempting a comeback north of the border, signing a contract today with the CFL's Montreal Alouettes.
Johnson worked out for the Als at their minicamp in Vero Beach, and the team apparently liked what they saw—the deal was inked and filed this afternoon. "It's just football. It's football," Johnson said after his tryout. "It's not about Montreal. It's about the opportunity to be able to play football again, something I love."
You'd think this might have been a warning sign, but no:
No practice today for Chad Johnson with the #Alouettes because of a sore groin.
