I mean, the Bulls Celts game was pretty epic. Wang goes Limp again and the Bronx is Bleeding. No sports news today! Reply

@Lizabelle: Also, I think some hockey happened/will happen.

Plus, you know, perhaps the best pound for pound MMA fighter in the world is defending his title tonight. Reply

Plus, Santana wins again 1-0. Reply

@UkraineNotWeak: I just looked at his line for the loss to the Marlins. That's ridiculous. Reply

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: I totally forgot Silva is fighting tonight.

Bless you, child. Reply

@UkraineNotWeak:

Plus, some guy named LeBron just put up a line of 38, 8 and 7 in the first playoff win of what is almost assuredly his first championship season. Reply

I knew he was good but not this good. If the Mets put up four runs in a game for him, he won't lose. Reply

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Yes, hockey happened and it sucked balls.

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Spider Silva vs. Thales Leites in what should be an excellent matchup. May the best Brazilian win! Reply

Image of BrockMiddlebrook BrockMiddlebrook 04/18/09

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Fedor's fighting tonight?

I keed, I keed. The Spider should destroy Leites tonight. If not, bigger upset then Serra over GSP? Could be. Could be. Reply

@Lizabelle: Not to mention the JBC game with John Wall, the most talked about recruit of 2009, and Henry, a top 10 recruit whose college future is still up in the air. Reply

@Brazil Thrill: Is Leites as good a BJJ artist as they make him out to be? Reply

Image of Craig Eshericks Mustache Craig Eshericks Mustache 04/18/09

@BrockMiddlebrook: That's exactly why I said perhaps, because I'm not sure who's the best PFP (Silva, Fedor and GSP are all in the conversation for me).

And yeah, I hope Jose doesn't have broken ribs. That was Pujols's pitch. Too bad he was a touch early, and then rolled over that slider.

Fucking pitching. Reply

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Whoops. Forgot Torres. But it'd have been easier to remember if he'd finished Mizugaki. Reply

Image of BrockMiddlebrook BrockMiddlebrook 04/18/09

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Fedor, Silva and GSP are the P4P trinity. Every time I say "OK that guy is the best" I see one of the other two fight and I change my mind.

The winners of Brown/Faber and Mir/Lesnar will enter the argument, and Torres is already creeping in, but those three are the clear favorites. Reply

Image of Brazil Thrill Brazil Thrill 04/18/09

@BrockMiddlebrook: His BJJ skills are really good but possibly a little overrated. Reply

Image of Craig Eshericks Mustache Craig Eshericks Mustache 04/18/09

@BrockMiddlebrook: Wait a minute - you're saying that if Lesnar wins, he enters the argument for best PFP? I don't know about that (unless he just destroys Mir, then submits him). Reply

Image of BrockMiddlebrook BrockMiddlebrook 04/18/09

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Sure, with quality of win definitely a factor. Likewise, I think if Mir turns in an excellent display against Lesnar, his name gets thrown in as well. They don't leap-frog the previous three (four if you count Torres), but their name is in the argument for P4P. Reply

Image of BrockMiddlebrook BrockMiddlebrook 04/18/09

@Brazil Thrill: Got it. Searching for video of his fight vs. Marquardt now. Reply

Image of Craig Eshericks Mustache Craig Eshericks Mustache 04/18/09

@BrockMiddlebrook: Ah, okay. If you include neither of those pass Fedor/Silva/GSP, I can agree with that. But whomever emerges from the Machida/Evans/Jackson scrum will want in too. Reply

Image of BrockMiddlebrook BrockMiddlebrook 04/18/09

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Ah yes! Excellent point! I don't know how I left the LHW's out of the argument, but you're absolutely right. Reply

Image of Craig Eshericks Mustache Craig Eshericks Mustache 04/18/09

@BrockMiddlebrook: They're in flux, so it's okay. I tend to ignore the small guys (Brown/Faber, Torres) because they're WEC, not UFC. But I saw Torres fight, and he's scary. Even if he didn't finish Mizugaki. Reply

Image of BrockMiddlebrook BrockMiddlebrook 04/18/09

@Craig Eshericks Mustache: Even in the fights Torres doesn't finish, his striking is so precise and sustained that I end up feeling sorry for the people he's fighting if they make it through to a decision. The fight against Maeda being the principle example. If the doctor hadn't stopped Maeda, he would have walked out for the fifth round of a beating that made GSP's job on Fitch look like a light sparring session. Torres is for real.

I'm a big Mike Brown fan too. His win over Leonard Garcia was a classic "Who's a fluke now?" beating. Reply
