This is especially disturbing after the NYT story on marrying cousins. In the state of New York, it is completely legal to marry your first cousin, with no restrictions. But two unrelated men cannot get married. In fact, it is legal to marry your first cousin in 25 states, but only five states (plus D.C.) allow same-sex marriage. That is fucked up.
I mean, consider that a lot of religious zealots compare homosexuality to incest - but incest is way more legal! It's like, if it's as bad as incest, then at least give it the same legal standing! Reply

@Rhymenocerous: I wonder if the laws about 1st cousins stipulate that they can't be same sex? That would be a disturbing loophole for gay marriage...
