If you're keeping score at home—we're talking about a late-August Cubs-Padres game that took 15 innings to complete, so you likely weren't—this one goes down as a fielder's choice, E3. But for a full appreciation of all of the fail involved here, be sure to scroll through this short checklist of derp:

• It's the top of the 13th inning, and neither team has scored a run.

• Nate Schierholtz hits a grounder toward first. He promptly trips and falls.

• Jesus Guzman throws home. His throw hits Schierholtz in the face. Run scores. Everybody's safe.

The Cubs would add another run. But because they're the Cubs, the Padres would score twice in the bottom of the 13th to tie it. Two innings later, San Diego would finally put everyone out of their misery by actually winning.
