So of course Denver Mayor Michael Hancock was on hand at this year's "showdown," which took place last Friday, to bestow a trophy upon the winning team. Things got really awkward. McElwain continued to be upset about the situation during a press conference on Monday, a portion of which you can see at the end of the video above. "Boy that makes a guy feel good—guy giving you the trophy and he can't spit your name out. Shows you how much they care about Colorado State, right?" are the words of a man who has caught some serious feelings.
