A few months ago, the Redskins marketing department began the annual, Sisyphean task of convincing people to pay money to watch their team play football eight times. Realizing that this would be a tough sell, especially to those it had tricked before, it threw in a perk: people who renewed their plans before March 1st would get free tickets to a FedEx Field event of their choice. Choices included games like Manchester United-Barcelona and Notre Dame-Maryland. Pretty cool, right? Customers also had the option of a Kenny Chesney concert, which they likely appreciated as wry humor from the front office. How does it go? Country singer Kenny Chesney, who sometimes seems to make a living as a singer so he can participate in football events, practiced with the New Orleans Saints yesterday. Chesney's appearance was not announced to the crowd watching practice, but Chesney ran routes, fielded punts, and did his best to relieve his high school wide receiver glory days. Then, things got interesting, good friend: Saints head coach Sean Payton, offered the team a day off from practice if Chesney could catch a punt. One can think of no one better to mediate the feud between 50 Cent and Kanye West than Stuart Scott ... except of course Conan O'Brien, or Daulerio. Both have albums coming out on Sept. 11, and Fiddy, as the kids call him, said that he will retire if Kanye's Graduation outsells his Curtis.
