Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner's biggest weakness is the start of the game. He holds a 5.73 ERA in the first inning this season, and a 2.49 average in the rest of them. The Royals did not get to Bumgarner early. They did not get to Bumgarner at all.

San Francisco took a 3-2 World Series lead behind Bumgarner's 5-0 shutout tonight. The lefty struck out eight, allowing four hits and no walks. He didn't allow more than one hit in any inning. This is a cold, cold man:

With the shutout, Bumgarner now holds a 0.29 World Series ERA, the best in MLB history with a 25-inning minimum. The 25-year-old's already passed many notable names in terms of overall postseason work, too.

Madison Bumgarner should probably be outlawed.
