Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota officially took home the Heisman Trophy tonight. The race lacked a bit of excitement this year, and only three people ended up as finalists. Alabama's Amari Cooper and Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon joined Mariota in New York City for the ceremony.
Mariota obviously had an outstanding season, throwing 38 touchdown passes compared to only two interceptions, and he led Oregon to the No. 2 seed in the inaugural College Football Playoff. The Ducks will take on No. 3 Florida State on Jan. 1., when Mariota and the Ducks can end our long, national nightmare and finally dispose of the Seminoles.
