After yesterday's Fiesta Bowl press conference for Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Bill Young, Tulsa World columnist Dave Sittler did what a lot of reporters often do once the cameras and microphones are turned off and the interview subject hasn't yet bolted for the lunch spread. Well, this is very sad: Oklahoma State's women's basketball coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna died in a plane crash in Perry County, Ark., on Thursday night. There were no survivors in the crash, which also killed the pilot of the plane and another individual not directly affiliated with the university. The coaches were traveling for a recruiting trip in Arkansas. More »

1) Bet the over In his first year at Oklahoma State, coach Travis Ford has installed a more up-tempo style of play than the Sutton years of old. This has resulted in the Cowboys averaging 81.1 points per game, tied with Mizzou for tops in the Big 12. The Pokes also finished fourth in the country in made 3-point field goals (308). This style of play was made necessary by the personnel available to coach Ford. The Cowboys start a four guard line up. The lone starting forward, Marshall Moses, stands at a towering 6'5'', and two of the starting guards, Byron Eaton and Keiton Paige, are under 6 foot.
