@Rainbow Bright: If that leads you to ACTUALLY ax murder Clay Bennett, then I'm not sorry.
@Candace Parker Secret Lover: Damn it. How did I manage to leave that out...?
@THEGINOCIMOLICONSPIRACY: Eh, I thought people would feel mocking those two, especially Reeves, was overdone. I was wrong, and I'm sorry.
@Cherokee Parks Was Misunderstood: See, and I totally did that on purpose to, uh, underscore my point. And stuff. Really.
@KellyDownsSyndrome: @KellyDownsSyndrome: Well, dude, I love your passion. Gotta stand up for your team, and your players. I appreciate the mini-debate.
@KellyDownsSyndrome: "Actually, it came to light recently that Mullin actualy offered Davis a little more money than the Clips did, only this contract was laden with games-played incentives, which leads one to believe that Davis has no plans of--or has no confidence in his ability to--playing the same number of games he did in his last season."

Well, possibly. Or maybe he saw it as a lack of appreciation and respect for what he'd done for the team. Plus, it's all about the guaranteed money with NBA players. Anybody can get hurt at any time. Players want security...just like anybody else.

"Biedrins actually averaged a near double-double (10.5 and 9.8) in only 28 minutes per game last year, and considering how much money teams dole out to underperforming centers on a regular basis, this should hardly be considered overpaying, especially when you consider the man is still only 22."

While that's certainly true, don't you think that maybe, just maybe, Biedrins' numbers were inflated by the Warriors' style of play? More shots, more rebounds, etc.?

"Furthermore, it is hardly accurate to compare the man to Troy Murphy, who stays 20 feet away from the basket at all times, shoots a much lower percentage than Biedrins (who led the league in shooting percentage last season), and collected most of his rebounds (Murphy did) following his own missed jump shots, which in turn were followed by more missed jumpers."

I dunno. When Troy was averaging 10 RPG for the Warriors, over 7 of those were on the defensive end…according to Basketball-Reference.com. Also, it stands to reason that Biedrins is going to have a higher shooting percentage: Troy's a jump shooter and, according to 82games.com, Biedrins shot selection breaks down like this: 65 percent "close," 12 percent dunks, 12 percent tips, and 11 percent jump shots. You're going to have a high FG% when all you do is lay it in, dunk, and get put-backs. But that also means he's not exactly versatile offensively, which means unless he's in the paint his defender can sag off him to provide help...among other liabilities.

Anyway, the reason I called him Murphy 2.0 wasn't because they are the same player, rather that Biedrins seems to offer the same numbers but he does it in a more efficient manner.

@1976 Oakland Raiders: You can tell them to watch Eddy and Zach. Perfect examples of how NOT to be. And if you're still a Knicks fan, that's some seriously loyalty. If I ever manage to take over the world, I'm naming you my second in command.
@Rainbow Bright: Can you smoke Drain-O? Is that even possible?
@Hank Scorpio-Steinbrenner: I think it's funny that a lot of Carlisle's "dictator" reputation came from trying to keep free spirits like Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson in line and running an actual, you know, offense and stuff.
@Darnell_Turner: The fact is, I think those simulations are stupid, which is precisely WHY I'm including them. I just figured the Deadspin readers were smart enough to figure that out without a preceding sentence saying, "This is so stupid, yo."
@FozzieBear: Forgive me, FozzieBear. I know that I, Basketbawful, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?
@Head Bee Guy: Oh yes. He's had a plethora.
@Al Navarro memes POLAR: Here's why, to me, it was an Epic Fail. The Lakers were up, at one point, by 24 points at home. They have a Hall of Fame coach whom many people think is the best ever. They have the league MVP whom many people think is the best closer in the NBA. And considering the fact that no team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in the Finals and Games 6 and 7 are in Boston...well, this was as close to a must-win as you can get.

And they lost. To me, that's Epic Fail.

Although, granted, the Celtics made an Epic Comeback, no question about it. But when a team has as many things going in their favor as L.A. did, there's really no excuse for letting a team that's been bad on the road and has no true go-to guy beat you under the circumstances.

@Jews For Purple Jesus: It's no coincidence. My poop habits control destiny. When congress voted to go into Iraq? Yep. I was on the toilet.

@futuremrsrickankiel: I'm going to quote you on that Eddie thing on my site...

@FriendsLikeJimRome: Aw, damn it, you're right! [smacks self] Where were you at 5 a.m. when I was writing this??

@Prada James: Actually, I'm hoping that Kevin Garnett runs over Kobe's limo with a semi, like Hulk Hogan did with the Rock. Yet, like the Rock, Kobe will be squashed instead of inexplicably okay.
@King of Pants: I never in my life expected a Marvel Superheroes RPG reference here. But it made me unreasonably happy.
