I'd say that's spot-on. It's just that there are quite a few people who identify as transsexual, but can't afford surgery/ies or aren't at that point in their lives. It's all about the brain. High-five for being willing to learn - thank you. :)
No. Transsexual refers to anyone that feels they're in the wrong body for their gender. It's possible, though unlikely, for a child to adopt the transsexual label. Not out of the question though.
Let's cut Drew some slack. He means well, he just stepped too far outside of his expertise. His expertise, of course, being vulgarity, sports, and poop jokes.
For someone not intending to be offensive, you're sure doing a great job of offending. She identifies as female so you should refer to her as she. Never, under any circumstance, should you refer to a transgendered person as "it."
I've been stuck on ESPN for hours now. These students are making me sick.
On a more positive note though, I haven't seen real journalism in the US media in years. Kudos to ESPN for their outstanding coverage of this whole debacle.
I don't know his reason for doing this, but I think it's really great that he did it. Amongst all of the "it gets better" stuff and telling kids it's going to be ok, it's really important they understand the reality for a lot of people that come out. This is reality...it will help others know what to expect as they come out. Pretty cool, though heartwrenching, stuff.
Yes, it's similar, though not exactly the same. If you OD, you have a panic attack, which is what sends kids to the hospital because they're not careful with it and think they're having a heart attack.
I smoked it for a time and my brother still does. Only real difference is that with marijuana you don't have to worry about having too much, whereas with this you can have a panic attack. Surprisingly, there's as much misinformation about this as there used to be (is?) real marijuana.
