@That-Dude: All good questions Dude. And the problem is...all of her competitors have the same things going for them (elite talent, advances in sports training/nutrition/medicine, the suits) plus the advantages of being 2 decades younger. And having better technique on stars and turns...which as I noted earlier, are crucial in these races.

It'd be a nice story and as a 37 year old I'd like to believe it...but as someone with a sports medicine degree that competed at high levels in swimming I don't.

PEDs. The 50 and 100 are the two "technical" races...because your starts (and turns in the 100) are crucial. There's nowhere to make up lost time. If you saw any of the trials, the commentators were continually remarking about how slow off the blocks she is and how bad her underwater technique on her turns is. In other words...her technique blows. So she is supposedly, at 41, orders of magnitude better than elite swimmers two decades younger than her "between the walls". After two surgeries (including shoulder surgery) in the past 8 months.

Bullshit.

HGH is detectable for approx. 1-3 days after injection. A doc can monitor bloodwork and "float" you just under the T/E threshold for a positive test (and her "partner" is an endocrinologist...a doc that studies hormones). The "clear" wasn't even detectable until a snitch sent samples to USADA and they knew what they were looking for (extrapolate that to today). It'd be a great story...but I don't believe she's clean for a second. She looks like a man now. Have you seen her jawline?

The risk/reward here is totally balance to taking PEDs and risking detection. If she gets caught, she fades into nothingness after a week. If she doesn't get caught, as a 41 year old mother/Olympian she's worth millions in endorsement dollars.
