@Her?: The Cool Kids reference a good amount of Chicago and Detroit athletes in their new mixtapes. Wale also has a ton of athletic references. And rappers from Atlanta loved mentioning Michael Vick a few years ago.
Good thing Roshown McLeod went to Duke. He never would've played 3 seasons in the NBA, averaging 7 points and less than 2 rebounds without the guidance of Coach K.
@greenfield-comma-tim: I was actually just trying to familiarize myself with them, since I think they're opening for The Killers.
I'm not 100% sure of how I feel about them yet, although I think they succeeded in making "Saturdays=Youth" have that 80s sound, if that's what they were going for.
@Rock You Like An Iracane: I'm glad to hear someone say that they weren't impressed with Drake. I've never seen him live, but the talk about him being the future of rap music is sorta crazy. Especially with guys like Wale, Gemstones, and Naledge out there.
@YourLittleHoodratFriend: One comparison that I have yet to see about him and Eminem is that both of their albums are considerably better than the first single off each album.
Unrelated, but that Chester French album is really good too, if rap isn't your thing.
