Don't blame the manufacturer, blame federal emissions standards for the gas cap issue - not to mention things like P0420 (catalytic converter below minimum threshold) and the other nonsensical, pointless codes that scare drivers.
Deja vu all over again. Each generation of commenters has their Rise Up and Save DUAN moment: this is yours. Cherish it. And in another 2-3 years, another group of commenters will get to have theirs. The circle of life continues.
Yes, good point. I just grabbed a couple Jalop alumni names and threw them out there. The good ol' niche days were fun, to be sure, but I don't mean to take anything away from what you do and the success this site is. Just a little clarification there.
Here's to the glory days of automotive excellence, and auto blogging excellence. Gimme a Dekotora El Camino with a Hayabusa and Lieberman and Murilee in the bed.
I hate to say it...but as a fan of '80s nostalgia, I kinda like it. I wouldn't buy it in a million years, but that doesn't mean I can't secretly appreciate it from afar.
On the one hand, I hate the increasing wealth disparity in this country; it's ultimately untenable.
On the other hand, Mullaly has done a hell of a job and has put Ford in a position where they can afford to pay their CEO $56.6 million IN STOCK (not in cash - big difference that is intentionally left out for maximum rabble-rabble value in this post). There's a bright side to being a profitable company that didn't have to take federal funds.
In this particular case, I'd tell Dot to take a hike. Cupcakes aren't exactly hard to find, even good ones, and often the only thing that sets decent bakeries apart is the service.
But sometimes, a product or service is so unique, hard-to-find, or valuable that it's harder to walk away from bad service. In the case of a food/restaurant for me, I will usually suffer ON RARE OCCASION through awful service if the food is truly unique and amazing....but I won't frequent the place AT ALL.
With other products, I will weigh the positives and negatives and see how they come out overall - if I think it's not worth the hassle, that business is stricken from my list...well, maybe not forever, but until I hear from people that they've changed their ways or gone under.
