On the one hand, I hate the increasing wealth disparity in this country; it's ultimately untenable.
On the other hand, Mullaly has done a hell of a job and has put Ford in a position where they can afford to pay their CEO $56.6 million IN STOCK (not in cash - big difference that is intentionally left out for maximum rabble-rabble value in this post). In this particular case, I'd tell Dot to take a hike. Cupcakes aren't exactly hard to find, even good ones, and often the only thing that sets decent bakeries apart is the service.
But sometimes, a product or service is so unique, hard-to-find, or valuable that it's harder to walk away from bad service. In the case of a food/restaurant for me, I will usually suffer ON RARE OCCASION through awful service if the food is truly unique and amazing....but I won't frequent the place AT ALL.
With other products, I will weigh the positives and negatives and see how they come out overall - if I think it's not worth the hassle, that business is stricken from my list...well, maybe not forever, but until I hear from people that they've changed their ways or gone under.
