I've only been checking Gawker/former-Gawker sites for a little over a year, I believe.

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Your Half-Year in Adult Contemporary Report: Nostalgia For 2007 Is Already Kicking In]]> @SomeSound-MostlyFury: Dillinger feat. Sade... ... i cannot even imagine that product.

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Your Half-Year in Adult Contemporary Report: Nostalgia For 2007 Is Already Kicking In]]> I love me some Michael Buble. Not so much that song, a whole lot of everything else.

You ever think about how horrible a bill your concert would be if your favorite acts toured together? Sade, Dillinger Escape Plan, Bear Vs. Shark, PJ Harvey, Mos Def, and Between the Buried and Me!! TONIGHT Only!!

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Let's Try To Predict The Grammys (Part Two)]]> Lupe Fiasco's album is my favorite of his proposed list. I have no need to predict my own list, I'd have to think too hard. Looking at his, though, it is an easy enough choice for me. But, much like enjoying Coheed and Cambria, if one can, I don't try to make sense of the concept album, and take it song by song.

]]>
<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Cuervo Girl Throws A Pretty Decent Splitter]]> I was at a Royals vs. White Sox game in Kansas City (Arrowhead is beautiful by the way). It is two stadiums int he middle of what looks like a 200 acre hilly cow pasture. So out of place.

Anyway, a Royals fan shouted at Crede probably the best insult I've ever heard: "YOU SUCK SO BAD, YOU SHOULD BE PLAYING FOR US!"

Genius.

]]>
<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Are You Ready For Coheed And Cambria's Concept-Album Marathon?]]> I can't believe that Chris left Dillinger Escape Plan to join this group. Even as a Coheed fan, I don't see how the drumming in this band can be as satisfying as the drumming in Dillinger.

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Hamiltonmania, Rick Reilly On Race, And Chase Utley Tells New York Fans Where To Shove It]]> It's a great time for blogs when in hearing "This is like a Kiwanis Club meeting!", my first thought is 'Lord, I cannot wait to see what Deadspin has to say about this'. I'm sure there were many more with the same thought process.

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Avril Lavigne's Clothing Line Just As Awkwardly "Punk Rock" As Its Designer]]> @Maura Johnston: If only i'd've found the clip to post. Somedays, even librarians can't find everything they want on the internet. A sad display of skills on my part.

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Avril Lavigne's Clothing Line Just As Awkwardly "Punk Rock" As Its Designer]]> HEY HEY YOU YOU I'M GONNA STEAL YOUR CLOTHING

(Does anyone else think the only good contribution Avril Lavigne has had was Kelly Kapur appropriating her song to talk shit to Pam?)

]]>
<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on This Just In: People Trust Their Friends' Music Recommendations]]> I thought maybe I'd try taking pitchfork recommendations over friends and independent hxcmp3.com seeking (does that even exist anymore?), but then I decided that I could never trust anyone who gave the album containing "Trapped in the Closet" a 7.4, or the institution which allowed that review to be published.

Now I peruse the XM, ask my friends, and check out bands I might read about on blogs, but not with a glowing recommendation always attached.

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Whither The Live Album: The Debate Continues]]> Oh! How could I forget! I picked up Darren Hayes' Time Machine Tour. Never liked Savage Garden, but his recent solo album really tapped into Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel something fierce. Great DVD, too.

]]>
<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Whither The Live Album: The Debate Continues]]> I definitely buy more live dvds than cds. I know I bought the Live Primus cd from the Aragon Ballroom because it was awesome and I was there... Most recently I had to replace my copy of the live Nine Inch Nails DVD "And All That Could Have Been".

Before that, as far as CDs go: Dave Chappelle's Block Party Soundtrack... does that count?

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on A Long Listmaking Exercise For A Long Weekend]]> Way too late, but I'd feel bad for trying and not following through. The hardest thing will be not listing my omissions and seconds and ties (because that would be ridiculously huge), but here's the list.

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on A Long Listmaking Exercise For A Long Weekend]]> You all make me feel bad for having to only start my list in 1982...

That being said, I would have to think really hard, too long to likely respond to this blog. I will just say that Maura: god bless you for your 2000. That album can swallow me whole on a bad day and raise me up on a good one like few other albums can (and thank god Dream Theater's Metropolis pt. 2 was in 1999: it was the only album I thought could knock out Harvey on my internal list).

]]>
<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Bonnaroo: Kanye West Gets Up With The Sun]]> I was just discussing with my friends that I'm discouraged from going to festivals because I'll have to make a tough choice on who to see at some point. Was he playing against someone else beforehand?

I do know that overblown sets are generally making up for something, and to be honest, most rappers come across week live anyway... ... sans J-5. (i'm sure there are others)

<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on (Somewhat Cool) Old Guys Added To Download Festival]]> @sicksteanein: @2ironic4u: I do really like Brand New. Devil and God (etc.) was an album I really liked, but in all of their albums, I am hard pressed to find irony, and I worry they really take themselves that seriously (as compared to, say, Taking Back Sunday: a band I like a lot less, but at least they know their job is to be full of shit). They can keep feeling however they choose, though, as long as the music stays good.

]]>
<![CDATA[TheRunningboard7 commented on Chris Martin: Limp Bizkit Fan]]> Without shame, I can state the Wes Borland did a sweet tap move on one song from 3 Dollar Bill, Yall, and I frequently rip the technique off when writing music, if even for a brief measure. I still think he's a great example of Mesa tone (unfortunately, this showed best on later albums).
