@dont-forget-where-you-came-from-cheese mac: Agreed. As a fan of the NBA, I can't even bring myself to pick up the Donaghy book. It's like when you're old enough to realize professional wrestling isn't real but enjoy it so much that you play along.
Also: Tiqiq is a pretty good site as a search hub to find good prices, which are increasing pretty quickly with interest so, it'd be a good idea to snap them up now. Per usual, games with LA/Miami/Boston and the sort are going to be through the roof.
@dont-forget-where-you-came-from-cheese mac: I will be one of the last to defend NBA reffing, but until one refs a game, it is difficult to understand how difficult it is to call a basketball game.
The speed and size of these players make viewing angles and time frames even more difficult. A lot of the calls made are in anticipation of contact, or how a player reacts to a call. It's easy to watch replay and say "Oh that certainly was not a foul", but it's revisionist.
To hope for 100 or even 95% accuracy with the speed of the game is delusional. Now if that Amar'e three had counted, we could start talking Donaghy.
@SirTruthington: Depends on your definition of "matter". Does it matter that this team is on its best streak in fifteen years? Does it matter that they can contend and perhaps even beat one of the best teams in the NBA?
@SirTruthington: Hope so. He'll be included in any trade and if Melo shows up in the summer via free agency, he gets stuck behind him and it will probably greatly hinder his development. I wish he rebounded better and/or passed at all because then he could share the floor, but it's tough to win in May/June with two of the exact same players on court at the same time...even in D'Antoniball.
@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: Listen, we don't know how to cheer for success yet. It's a long transition from sitting three rows deep with pikes that have been sharpened for half the franchise's heads.
