Art Shell thinks he can still coach
Addendum to the first question: Is it morally reprehensible to use the fact that your last relationship ended due to her going into a coma to pull tail, or is that just the sort of behavior you expect from your readers?

It should be pointed towards Boston
Why couldn't college sports be like the Canadian Major Junior Hockey leagues? There, the players (16-20) are given housing, have their tuition paid at a local high school or college if they want, and are given a weekly salary of $500ish while being allowed to retain their marketing rights. It seems to me that a similar system could be implemented and we would see little if any changes to big time college football and basketball. The teams would simply be associated with the schools, and could be run by the alumni committees. Unfortunately, this could hurt a lot of the sports which are subsidized by the revenue brought in by football and basketball.
I'm a libertarian because I understand economics. A free market, with the government acting to protect people's negative rights (force/fraud cannot be used) and correct negative externalities, is the best way to give the greatest number of people the highest standard of living. Additionally, why is there the assumption that just because you feel morally obliged to assist others, the government must force you and your fellow taxpayers to foot the bill? Can't we do anything as a civil society without being coerced into it?
I think this also explains why late night talk shows will never be the gold standard for comedy. Why would an edgy, groundbreaking comedian shackle himself to appear in front of a bland, albeit larger, audience when he can go to HBO, FX, or Comedy Central and have full creative control over whatever he does.
They better use discretion when turning on the fire hoses. Next thing you know rioting soccer fans will march on the capital.

Quick question for NFL season ticket holders: I know that a major point of contention between you and the owners is being forced to pay for the 2 preseason games. Obviously, when teams send you the bill for your season tickets you see the total price you are paying for 8+2 games. Same when you make the decision to first purchase season tickets. The market has dictated that in order to be granted access to purchase tickets to the 8 regular season games, you must also pay for the 2 preseason games. If the team sells out their stadium every season, then you can't blame the owners for the prices they set, as they are simply responding to demand. Would you rather the team set the season ticket prices at 10-12% higher per game but not make you buy the preseason games?

That being said, I think the owners are giant twats who aren't concerned about the CBA as much as they want to present the idea of poverty so that they can team up with politicians and rape taxpayers in LA/Minny/Buffalo/Buffalo. Fuck any owner or politician who tells the people of their city that a publicly funded stadium will be a good investment for anyone other than themselves.
