You're right, we're doing it wrong. We should do it like you - like this:

Indeed you did, capndonkey. Indeed you did.
This is not an open thread. Comment on the post at hand, or do not comment.
This is disappointing.

"Hey, look, I made a pop culture reference!"
This is the worst case of having a head up one's ass I've ever seen.

"That's simply not true." - J. Sandusky

"Gigolo" is spelled with two O's. Like "doofus."

Figured you might want to learn something on the way out.

Look, either commit to the joke or give the submit button a rest. Don't post it if you feel the need to include not one but two apologies.
This is not what we do here.

Run free, dear idiot! To home! To Yahoo!
Here's a clue, genius. If your comment could be replaced by a link saying, "Visit this other website where some other people have made some funny side-by-side pictures of famous faces!" without losing any of its humor value, it does not fucking belong here. Make your own comments, or get the fuck out.

This kind of thing belongs in DUAN, not here. Nobody cares what you are drinking here.
/looks around for crap.

Come on, if you really think that an unadorned reference has to be a Simpsons reference to be be annoying, you are missing the boat. Did you not read the comment ninja post the other day? It is the sentiment, the "Hey, here's something that this reminded me of!" that we find aggravating and uncreative.

Yes, South Park probably did base the episode supplying that clip on Greg Oden.

The challenge here is to say something smart, interesting or original about that circumstance, not merely note it's existence.

We're not moving this, we're leaving it here for educational purposes.

"Putz."

Not Sure, and all others seeing this:

Allow me a moment of your time. We prefer smart, original and funny remarks in this comment section. We're fine with people disagreeing with or questioning a post and other commenters, so long as it is done in a thoughtful, courteous and reasonable manner.

Your assertion of "Laughable" followed by a #deadspinfail tag is not particularly thoughtful, courteous or reasonable. This isn't the YouTube comment section, and around here, we don't say things just to rile other people up, or take a disagreeable positions just for sport. Your admission of being a dick does not bode well for any arguments you may make that your "Laughable" comment was made in good faith.

Debate all you want, but do so in a manner befitting our expectations.

What is this? What the hell is this? What is it? What?
