Primer II - The Hollywood Version, coming to a theater near you.
@Bruce_Wayne: +1 park all covered with cheese
@kylejahner: (just resigned Canada's national goalie, 25-year-old '06 Stanley Cup MVP Cam Ward Ward is far from our National Goalie. He's between 3rd - 6th on the depth chart and will have to have an exceptional first few months to secure the 3rd place spot at the Olympics.
@Temidien: Your argument only serves to demonstrate that it is a poorly constructed trailer. Make any claims you want about the correlation between poor trailer and poor movie, but at the end of the day its still gross extrapolation.
They've really screwed up in the expectations management with this film. The choices in cutting this teaser were awful, there's no way that anybody involved with the project could watch that CGI footage, on internet resolution no less, and conclude that it was going to give viewers the impression that it was revolutionary. Hence, they've received a predictable (if wholly whiny and unwarranted) backlash this morning. Anyone making factual statements about the quality of the CGI characters/worlds based on a 1 minute teaser has immediately rendered their opinion irrelevant due to the absurd sample size. Nonetheless, why give those who would do so this much fodder in a teaser? This is a James Cameron movie, its going to be about more than pretty blue aliens and weird animals, and yet thats all they show? There's a solid human cast in this and we got 10 seconds of Worthington? This teaser could not have been more poorly envisioned given the hype they created for the film. Understand the fickle nature of your audience. Hopefully with future trailers they can convey that this film is more than just an experiment in CGI, because expectations are that Cameron will deliver more than that. As for the CGI complaining, i don't get it, i can understand people saying that it doesn't look revolutionary, because at this stage/resolution it doesn't. But the complaints i've read about 'not looking real' are absurd, they're friggin make believe aliens, they can't look real. No matter what advancements are made in CGI technology over time, if you are creating a fictional being, it is always going to be perceived as fake. It's always fun to watch hype explode on the internet. For some films its even been more entertaining than the film itself turns out to be, hopefully this is not the case with Avatar.
@The Mullet: Ya I saw that, supposedly a smart guy but I certainly don't think he's pulling the strings.

Loves how annoyed he seems with the constant Lecalvier speculation.

@The Mullet:

I agree, its in the franchises best interest financially to draft Tavares. But it would also be in their best interest to be promoting the hell out of this in advance the way Tampa did last year with their "Seen Stamkos?" campaign weeks before the draft. I just cannot fathom why they would be keeping silent if they've decided to take Tavares.

@The Mullet:

Well since the Islanders refuse to name who they're going to pick I assume its because they dont want to be embarassed beforehand. I predict they don't draft Tavares and didn't want to deal with the scrutiny beforehand. At which point Tampa probably trades #2 to add another 13 forwards to the roster and Avalanche end up laughing their ass off with whatever steal they get at 3.

Though the prefered way for any of them to screw up would be to trade a pick to the Leafs.

@Michael Dukakis:

DUAN requires thoughtful comments? Damn, things have changed while i was away.

Did we not even get a casual mention of tonight's NHL Entry Draft in today's posts?
Mr. Broderick, will you please ask your wife to stop sticking her tongue out at the camera.
@Sandburgh:

In all seriousness, what worse place could that photo have been taken?

Graveyard?

@BruschisBrewsky:

"Barely tolerable" is far too generous a term.
