@i_am_me: I have my won 'stros jersey and I have been known to drink my weight in Shiner Bock but I HATE that song. It's soooo cheesy.
I kind of love her batshit craziness.

@onestrawplz: Or, as Davie Crockett once said, "you may go to hell, I will go to Texas."
@pandorasmittens: It's because you're not from Texas. You haven't been to the Alamo or to San Jacinto...a lot of people died to free ourselves from Mexico, and we really be the odds, cause Mexico should have crushed us. And even though Sam Houston always had the intention for Texas to join the Union, there is no other state in the US that fought as we did to become a state.
@i_am_me: For serious. You can take Austin and all of it's hippies and hobos, we would like to keep San Antonio, Gruene, Shiner, Fort Worth, Padre Island, ect.
@i_am_me: I voted for him last time cause he's was an Aggie and a Yell Leader. And because Kinky wasn't gonna make it, and I didn't want the lady that was on the ballot as "Grandma."

And I agree that they entertain they idea, but that I don't think it would ever happen. It is plausible however...we have a large enough and strong enough economy, our own ports, enough reserve manpower. At least we could secure our fucking border if we did...that shit is ridiculous.

@ellaesther: Texans are very, very proud. I was at the Alamo recently, and we have a whole lot to be proud of. I heard recently that "Texas loves America, it's just that Texas thinks they do America best."
@onestrawplz: As the second largest economy in the US after California, and as one of four states with a surplus, I don't think you really want that for America.
@Mafalda para Presidente: I honestly don't think it would actually ever happen...but man people love to talk about it. In all actually it COULD be possible...our economy is big enough and strong enough to support it, we have our own ports, enough people.
@ellaesther: Like 75% of Texans actually entertain the idea. It makes him very popular in Texas.
Rick Perry doesn't want Texas to secede. Rick Perry just re-asserted state sovereignty because he feels the federal government powers have been interfering with state business.

Also, Texas is the only state that retains it's right to secede, and also divide in 5 smaller states if it so chooses.

@WaltzingMatilda(theOriginal): I think it's a vast oversimplification to say that these people don't want to pay any taxes. A lot of them support things like the Fair Tax or flat taxes, as opposed to income taxes.
@dreamweave: They're symbolizing ridiculous taxation. The protest has to do with that, and the backlash against the bailouts. It's purely tax- and spending-related, so no pro-life crap or stuff like that.
The secret: she's sleeping with your husband.
@greengrey: I haven't heard anywhere that says that people aren't paying their taxes as a form of protest. Where is everyone getting this?
@Santos L Halper: None of this has to do with protesting by not paying taxes. My boyfriend is a crazy libertarian and he's all in to this stuff, and I haven't heard anything that suggests that you not pay your taxes as a sign of protest.
@Eeva: Yeah...telling a 16year old to shut the fuck up and "make a sex tape"....I can't believe you guys left that part of the quote out. It was the worst part.
