Most 'date-rape' drugs (GHB, rohypnol) metabolize within 12-24 hours. So unless the woman immediately goes to the police/hospital and has a toxin screen performed there won't be 'evidence' of the drug.
I'm thinking the outpouring of praise was more for the fact that I stood up to a grown man who was a foot taller and 100 lbs. heavier (and a lot more experienced at hitting people) than I was for the honor and safety of my then-girlfriend.

As a young boy, I was constantly challenged by other young boys to tests of physical prowess. Who can throw the rock farther, who can hit this ball harder, who can run faster, who can climb higher. It's the nature of the beast.
My father, at a very young age, told me that it was not okay to hit unless you were defending yourself. "You don't start fights, you finish them." Sage words, pops, until that 7 year-old girl hit me in the nuts and I hit her back. That's when mom stepped in.

Despite the fact that she'd started it and I was defending myself, I wasn't to hit the girl back. Grab her arms, run away, defend your soft-parts, just DO NOT STRIKE a girl.
I don't really see anything wrong with teaching that to young boys. If you tell them not to hit anyone and they start to get bullied, what then? They will be picked on until they stand up for themselves. THAT is a fact. Kids are fucking mean to each other, and as a young boy you have to 'fight back' sometimes or you'll be the one walking home with no shoes in the slush.
Not many at all, I was trying to convey that no matter what she does I do not think it is acceptable to strike a woman.

'Felonious Assault and Battery of a Minor' isn't something that you can get expunged or cover up, so I inadvertently achieved the result that those girls needed by getting my ass kicked at 17.

This made me really, really uncomfortable.
Growing up I had a block full of girls my own age and very few boys. We would rough-house as kids are wont to do, and one time one of the girls punched me in the nuts. So I punched her back. My mom, never the type to overreact, flew out of the house in an apron half-covered in powdered sugar and dragged my 6 year-old ass into the house for a lecture and time-out and none of the delectable pastries she was crafting during the incident.
Her words, to this day, stick with me - if only for the simplicity and force behind them:

I explained (more likely whined, I was 6 after all) that she totally started it and I was jus-

That was it. I've been nut-checked, slapped, spat on and had drinks thrown at me by women since then, and never again. Boys don't hit girls.
11 years later I date a girl who 'falls down' a lot. Seemingly this is a genetic problem as her mother and sister 'fall down a lot' too. A boy at 17 is pretty much invincible, at least in his own mind, so imagine my shock when I confronted her dad about the bruises on her legs and he took a swing. I was a wrestler and had taken some self-defense courses so I went for the shoot (drop to a crouch and 'shoot' your body at their legs, trying to hook the knees to bring them down) and dropped a 40 year-old who outweighed me by 100 lbs. I remember landing at least two punches square to the nose and jaw...
I woke up in the hospital with a concussion, but that fucking piece of shit went to jail that night and never gets to see his girls again without state supervision.

Good read Bash, I'm interested to know where you got the $65 more if made in the USA number from, and if that source took into account the vast differences between US production and Chinese production.
I don't work in the field, but as someone who does regularly compete with Chinese production on Q-switches, I know that it is much more costly to do business here in the US.
I'm sorry for generalizing, Kerts, and I'm sorry for misunderstanding this comment: are you saying you're 14 or that you have a learning disability?
Either way, I don't mind playing with younger people so long as they're not talking about having relations with my mom or calling me four-letter words all the time. Heck, sometimes I prefer to team up with some teenagers just to make me feel like a kid again :-)
I hope you find a good group of people that base their judgment on your gameplay and attitude, not your voice, age, or intelligence quotient.
You're right, that was a crass generalization on my part. There are kids out there who don't fit the mold of the annoying teenage gamer, and just as assuredly there are men and women my age who are still acting as if they are a part of the annoying teenage gamer demographic.
However, generalizations of character exist because they are usually held up by the people in that demographic. Most teenage gamers I know are annoying little jerks, and most adult gamers I know are more likely to be even-keeled and not insulting.
The Honor System, as much as I'd like to believe in its effectiveness, is an antiquated system perverted by the same awful people in the article. There just has to be a better way...
