Loving the fight is one thing, loving the injury is another. The overwhelming response I have seen is joy at the brutality of the fight, not the outcome. And really? Every fan in every city loves a fight? That must be why this is being debated all over the internet today, right? Because everyone is in agreement on it?
Great article; I never really had a problem with Asham, as he was just doing what enforcers do. What is truly baffling, though, are the Pittsburgh fans who worshipped Asham afterwards as the second coming, just for creaming a guy who a) had absolutely no fighting experience in the NHL and b) has a history of concussions, dating back to his AHL days. We ARE talking about the same fans who have lost their star player for 10 months to a concussion, right? And who probably supported their management in their crusade against unneccesary head injuries?
@Tchotchke: The only things to avoid at IKEA are beds and seating you need to be comfortable. In terms of putting things together, I also find IKEA stuff considerably easier to assemble than Target furniture, which is hell on earth.
@CaliCheeseSucks: Sorry, my newsfeed is full of Steelers fans, including one of my most loathed frenemies, so I am praying Green Bay wins. May the best newsfeed emerge victorious!
@Lynx: By the way, just exercising my own competetive muscles, but I do like Chris Osgood. And I hear Kristen Bell has a celebrity crush on him as well, so we are in good company.
@Myrna Minkoff: This is currently happening to the bf; one side is healing perfectly and the other is still sore a week later. His theory is that his tongue was pushed to that side, and thus it was harder to get at those teeth and the surgeon was not as gentle.
But I seem to remember uneven recovery myself, so I don't think you're a mutant.
@Tchotchke: I was 10 in 1995 so I was late to the party, but that's what happens when a song comes out when you're 7 years old. I couldn't be bothered to listen to anything but Raffi and The Little Mermaid soundtrack in 1992.
@Chad Sexington: The difference can be found mainly in how many less times a crosstalker's inane TMI babbling makes my eyes involuntarily glaze and cross.
@Verucalise: WARNING: Random observation on the internet about America's insistence on luxury items is not necessarily directed only at you. Nor does it require you to share your daily purchasing decisions with us.
@Myrna Minkoff: My boyfriend got his out last weekend. While waiting for the anesthesia to wear off, he demanded the doctor return his teeth to him so he could make a necklace out of them.
I'm curious, were you advised to make a follow up appointment? I was required to have one, but no one said anything about it to my boyfriend, so I'm wondering which is more common.
