Sal Paolantonio reported one of those stories this morning that forced Philly's football media to ask the kind of question Eagles coach Andy Reid might actually have to answer. According to Sal Pal, the Eagles had tried to bring in <a href="http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/10/12/report-mangini-turned-down-eagles-defensive-consultant-job/">former Browns coach (and current ESPN analyst) Eric Mangini</a> to jog along and hold first-year defensive coordinator Juan Castillo's bicycle seat, but that Mangini said no thanks. <a href="http://deadspin.com/5849190/espn-employee-denies-espn-report-that-said-espn-employee-was-offered-a-consulting-job-with-the-eagles" title="Click here to read more about ESPN Employee Denies ESPN Report That Said ESPN Employee Was Offered A Consulting Job With The Eagles">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

<!-- videoId: QJshw2Axsqc --><!-- /videoId: QJshw2Axsqc --> Sal Paolantonio interviewed Bart Scott back in January, after the Jets <a href="http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/gameflash/2011/01/16/4313_boxscore.html">defeated the Patriots, 28-21</a> in the AFC semifinals. As the ESPN YouTube video would have us believe, Scott <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJshw2Axsqc">"literally [flew] over"</a> to Paolantonio, talked about nosebleeds and believing for a bit, and ended his shining moment with an exuberant "CAN'T WAIT!" Just five days later, Scott <a href="http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4003:hv7aqm.2.2">registered a trademark for men's, women's, and children's apparel</a> with the United States Patent & Trademark Office. He "revealed" the trademark <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=6181697">in an interview this morning</a>, the day after possibly violating his NFL contract by <a href="http://nymag.com/daily/sports/2011/03/did_wrestling-fan_bart_scott_v.html">stepping into the ring in TNA <em>iMPACT!</em></a>. What a week for <a href="http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4003:hv7aqm.2.2">Bartholomew</a>. The Jets <a href="http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/03/04/jets-still-not-talking-about-bart-scotts-wrestling/">haven't yet commented</a> on the wrestling debut, but if there is a lockout next year, Scott will look for back-up earnings from all of those awesome "CAN'T WAIT!" T-shirts that nobody will be buying. That is, of course, until hipsters pick them up in bargain bins at the Salvation Army 15 years from now. <a href="http://deadspin.com/5777062/bart-scott-now-owns-the-rights-to-the-phrase-cant-wait" title="Click here to read more about Bart Scott Now Owns The Rights To The Phrase &quot; Can't Wait!&quot;">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

Terrell Suggs caused a firestorm when he bragged about the Ravens D <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3659317">putting Rashard Mendenhal</a>l on IR for the rest of the season and then confidently said that Hines Ward was next. Some argued that Suggs was just a little confused about what a bounty actually is; he didn't mean anything by it, he's just mouthing off like any hard-nosed linebacker should. Then there's former Ravens coach Brian Billick, who in Colonel Jessup-like fashion, shared the cold, hard realities of the <a href="http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/nfl_tracker/posts/17001">NFL with Dan Patrick</a>: <a href="http://deadspin.com/5067966/terrell-suggs-should-really-handle-all-media-relations-for-the-ravens" title="Click here to read more about Terrell Suggs Should Really Handle All Media Relations for The Ravens">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>

ESPN's flashy-suited NFL reporter is the WWL's go-to guy when it comes to the headline-grabbing stories that require an Italian hard news punch. "Sal Pal", as he's wont to call himself, is a Philly boy, who's covered everything from Terrell Owens' driveway meltdown, to Spygate, to Vick's dogfighting trial, and even filled in for Stu Scott on the MNF pregame when Stu was having his little nodule scare. <a href="http://deadspin.com/5015422/media-approval-ratings-sal-paolantonio" title="Click here to read more about Media Approval Ratings: Sal Paolantonio">More&nbsp;&raquo;</a>
