When you shower, at some point you probably grab a bottle of shampoo or body wash. If you have done this thousands of times in your life with no apparent problems, well, then you aren’t a professional baseball player.

Today’s strange baseball injury comes to us from Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett, who apparently cut his finger while trying to soap up. From his Instagram:

And the accompanying caption:

Can’t believe it! Literally trying to grab some body wash in the shower (post game in Pittsburgh) and sliced my finger on the bottom of the metal thing that holds the shampoo and body wash! CraZ I know.

Gennett is going to miss a couple of games, and all because he wanted to smell not terrible. Life isn’t fair.
