Catching a fly ball against the backdrop of dozens of retina-searing white lights can't be easy. Every now and then, you're going to lose one ... and in such instances, you're going to stand there and look like a chump. It happens to the best of them. But that doesn't make it less amusing.
By the way, that clip was created with Flip4Mac Trial. I felt obligated to point that out.

Gritty McHustle alert!

man, that is a great highlight clip. what sort of computer software might one need to put together an equally outstanding video clip
Pure grinder.
@Kid Canada: he displayed such grit and hustle letting that ball fall behind him.
Dude should stick to punting footballs.
That clip is giving me bad flashbacks to being 10 years old in Dixie League ... guhhhhhh.
Is it wrong that I am enjoying Sox fans' pain/complaining/weeping this much? Does this make me a bad person?
Mac will flip you. They'll flip you for real.
I think it makes you a Cubs fan. And you're just welcoming us to the club, assuming World Series rings don't keep you out of said club.
@J-No: I think it just makes you human.
@the_h_is_o: Outstanding The Usual Suspects reference.
Is that the one about the hooker with dysentery?
the dudes at firejoemorgan just got a raging hardon.
I learned something when I was 11 (o.k. 16) after I took a fly ball to the head. The glove can also be a shield to block the sun/lights so you can see the ball. It's an intangible that only Joe Morgan would understand.
I'm going to freak out now!!! According to the flip 4 macs, I guess
@twoeightnine: @McBain: The sox fans in my local estblishment have been so obnoxious the last two years it almost made me change bars. They have become slightly quiter the last 2 weeks, and my bar enjoyment has increased dramatically.
@metschick:
He kicked punts, he didn't return them...
@J-No:
Not one bit.
Sox sux.

If only there was a handy way that the clip could illustrate this info for the viewer
@J-No: Yeah, because you know, Cubs fans are known for being OH SO quiet and dignified.
Oh, I forgot, it's the Sox fans who are obsessed with the Cubs. Then why are the Cubs fans in here commenting on the Sox again?
That's nothing. I've done that before...when I was playing softball at age 10.
@J-No: Cubs fans are as bad or worse than Sox fans to be around. Example: Cub fans gloating over the Sox being bad, Sox fan misery, etc., but, uh, have you looked at the standings? As lousy as the Sox are playing (and it's been bad, can't spin a .220 team batting average) the Cubs are a whopping half game better.
@Yinka Double Dare: I agree, it may have ben better to express my joy when we got at least a half game over 500.
That's right, Cubs fans created the Sox rivalry. Because we certainly don't already have a bitter rival in our own league and division, and also we're the ones with the massive inferiority complex because we had about 50 fans until we suddenly won something.
There should be one bad blooper like that in every game, and some betting to guess who will make it. BTW, Flip4Mac paid version is cheap and worth it.
