    Blogdom's Best: Utah Jazz

UtahJazzlogo.jpgIt might not — yet — have the online fanaticism and cachet of baseball, but the NBA and its fans are starting to catch up in the world of team-devoted blogs. To this end, Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each NBA team. There are fewer than there are for baseball, but they're out there, if you look. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours, even) for selection, just let us know at tips@deadspin.com. Today: The Utah Jazz.

We always thought that the New Orleans Jazz was a cool name for an NBA franchise. "The Jazz are in town. Let's go see the Jazz." Apparently that wasn't being said a lot around New Orleans, because the team had to move in 1979 due to financial difficulties (despite having Pistol Pete Maravich as their star player). And so off they moved to Salt Lake City, where they became the Utah ... Jazz? We wouldn't be surprised if jazz was banned outright there. How about the Utah Black Hawks (the Black Hawk Indian wars were fought there)? The Utah Donny & Maries? Or the Utah Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Just brainstorming. On with the blogs.

    3. Jazz Hoops. Not a blog in the truest sense of the word, but the site is clean, orderly and ambitious, just like Utah.
    2. Jazz Crap. Delightfully named, oddly designed and fervently devoted to the only NBA team based in a state with 3 million or fewer residents.
    1. All That Jazz. Cheerfully providing all of your Karl Malone jersey retirement story needs, plus other great stuff.
