I've heard some epic tales from the rolling drunken partyfest that is RAGBRI. This is the first celebrity pie eating I've heard of from there.

Hm. Lance retires from competitive racing. Before he heads out, he founds a nationwide fundraising machine, good for millions of dollars, with an easily identifiable symbol that puts supporters in touch with one another. He vehemently defends his past accomplishments and thumbs his nose and press "haters" while nuturing the attention of friendly media. He makes a number of public appearances, but tries to avoid contraversy. Then, he is only willing to don the jersey again for a local event...in Iowa...that includes a lot of pie eating and glad handing.

This can only mean one thing - Lance is going to be a candidate in the Iowa Caucuses in 18 months.

I live in Iowa and that about sums up the Armstrong apperance here. He is doing publicity for Cancer funding and most likely will do RAGBRAI next year for the caucuses. Where we get a big say in who is Prez....
