Page 3: Not Much Time Left Now

The impending death of Page 3 is not something from which we take much enjoyment. The closings of sites tend to make people lose their jobs, and even though the full-time staff at Page 3 is, at tops, one (and that's probably being optimistic). But still: The death bell be just about to be rung-ded.

Page 3 has lost its link off the front page of ESPN.com, which means that the only people who can now read Page 3 stories are those who have the site specifically bookmarked. Which is to say, their only full-time employee, we suspect. It's kind of sad. We're not sure we ever understood what the point of Page 3 was, and that's likely the problem: Nobody really did. So, "enjoy" the last few weeks (if that). Won't be long now.
