Video of Buccaneers wide receiver David Boston performing a field sobriety test during his Aug. 24 DUI arrest. It's oddly compelling. [The Buried Lead]

For some reason, I always get David Boston mixed up with David Justice.

  • @Glossina Glossinidae:

    Seriously.

    "Look at your foot sir!"

"Your a highly trained athlete sir, you can do things I can't do."

"I didn't ask you to count to 30 sir."

    F@ck off, Carl Monday!

  • He assumed David Boston graduated from college. I think the cop was smoking something.

  • Oddly enough, he had no alcohol in his system:

  • I didn't think he was drunk after watching that video. But he was def. under the influence of something that he shouldn't have been taking and driving.

DUI doesn't mean just alcohol. He could have been on perscription medication and should not have been operating a motor vehicle. He could have killed someone.

Or like that scene from Black Sheep with Chris Farley.

Officer: "Do you know how fast you were going?"

    Farley: "50, 60 mph?"

Officer: "7. 7 MPH. And generally when i pull someone over they go to the side of the road, not the middle median."

  • David Boston's biggest problem was that he had a pre-conceived notion that the cop was out to get him. His lack of cooperation ensured that he would be arrested - whether or not he was on the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The officer's biggest problem was that he REALLY wanted to arrest a famous sports star.

    ____________

He found David Boston, asleep, at the wheel, in the middle of the day, car in drive, on his way to the airport?

I don't think this cop had an agenda. I think he just wanted to go by the book 100%. Heck, Boston was already asking for his lawyer early in the video.

And the officer knew he was on tape. Told Boston that.

I just think David Boston is a moron and has a problem.

  • @ GLOSSINA GLOSSINIDAE

I don't disagree that Boston was being a moron. After watching the video, I would have arrested him as well. He deliberately disobeyed about a half dozen of the officer's direct requests/demands.

But I still believe that the officer showed a little too much interest in David Boston the sports star rather than David Boston, Tampa resident and licensed driver.

That being said, it cannot be verified that Tony LaRussa called David Boston for some unsolicited advice immediately after watching this video.

  • Wow, interesting video.

Boston behaved like an oppositional adolescent, but yet showed no slurring of speech, no motor incoordination, and no cerebellar signs of intoxication.

The officer annoyed the heck out of me, mostly being condescending during the exam.

I don't think Boston was intoxicated on alcohol (he blew a zero). But the question remains why was he asleep at a stop sign in daylight? Narcolepsy????

  • @Royalssuck:

if you watch the part of the video where he is touching his nose, there is one instance where he misses the tip and puts it close to his cheek.

were you watching highlight videos of his career or the police video?
