If you hadn't noticed yet, that story about A-Rod in New York magazine was written by us. We know, we know, we're laughable, we're irresponsible, we're hacks, we heard, we heard. [New York Magazine]

Uh oh, Scott Boras is going to put you at the bottom of a well.
*golfclap*
Not enough pictures of mannish women.
Next on the to-do list: messing with sasquatch
"They're up for sale, but a source with knowledge of the situation says Boras knows which group is most likely to be awarded the team."
It's Boras himself, isn't it?
I read the whole thing before I even realized that Will had written it. A great analysis of the situation.
Hobbesian knife fight
Them's some big words, boy.
By stirring up another A-Rod Media Shitstorm, just in time for the playoffs, you are surely doing the Lord's work, Mr. Leitch. Bless you, sir.
The Cardinals put you up to this didn't they????
So...the founder of a website that spends a great deal of its time calling out the mainstream media for its piss-poor analysis, fact checking, and judgment wites an article for the mainstream media, that is short on analysis, sources, and judgement...?
"Worlds collide, Jerry!"
They made sure to mention this on Mike & Mike, they made doubly sure not to mention the author though.
Dharma Initiative>Yankee Global Enterprises>Boras Corporation
"Yankees fan knows, the team has failed to win a World Series since acquiring Rodriguez"
Using that logic, the blame for 7 years without a World Series ring clearly falls on Mike Mussina and Jason Giambi...right?
@BigRicks: I blame Sterling Hitchcock.
"...and the sports pages will vituperate."
Sounds like what happens after a night at the press club.
@BigRicks: Obviously, the Yanks would have at least five additional rings if they'd just held on to Shane Spencer and Scott Brosius.
Interestingly enough, Will actually typed this article out in his mother's basement.
Ouch. That's certainly not going to make your skewering on "Around the Horn" any easier. Good luck to you, Leitch.
The picture of the baby Yankee fan booing is just tremendous.
It says something that there are so many pictures like that around.
Thank you for not disclosing me as your source Will, greatly appreciated.
After that whole Pujols thing, my personal training business has been infected by the Mike Cooper virus..
vi·tu·per·ate - to use or address with harsh or abusive language.
Not sure how that applies to Yankee fans.
However good-natured it was, it's the kind of thing that does not speak to an undying attachment between player and team.
This is the only line I didn't get. The whole making-fun-of-the-tic thing is one of the few things that does speak to an attachment between A-Rod and the rest of the team. You would never have seen them do that in previous years.
@Rob Iracane: What, you've been peeping in A-Rod's personal tape library?
I'm just glad the Yankees are getting the press that the mainstream media usually denies them....
An article that might undermine the chances of a prospective buyer purchasing the Cubs? Your colors are showing Will.
Hey Will, next time Scott Boras uses you as his mouthpiece bitch, can you at least make sure he gives you a reacharound? Thanks.
Despite what Boras is trying to do, I firmly believe that no one in baseball is dumb enough to give Rodriguez 30 million a year or another ten-year deal. Much less both in one contract.
I guess this puts the Marlins out of the A-Rod race.
How dare you write anything controversial about the GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL ETERNITY. Oh wait, you were talking about A-Rod, not Pujols; nevermind.
"And losing A-Rod-with the consequent near-guaranteed crumminess of next year's team that entails"
The Yankees won four world series with nary a single 30HR hitter or 120-RBI man. How will losing A-Rod suddenly make them so crummy, with a Pettitte / Hughes / Wang / Chamberlain / Kennedy rotation?
But why would Will write something that accuses the Cubs of tampering, which will cost them draft picks, etc. St. Louis fan wanting to cost the Cubs draft picks? I've answered my own question!
