I don't think Freddie was as much bad as he was stupid/unmotivated. If he thinks he's as good as he thinks he is, then there's no reason to work harder to get better.

Reggie Brown looks like he'll be good. Pinkston is what he is, Alvin Harper with more speed and an eating disorder. The Eagles are allegedly looking into a trade with Denver for Ashley Lelie, who will make a fine replacement for Freddie Mitchell's penny/quarter routine.

I still think the Eagles could be good this year. The rest of the division got better, but can anyone say that any of those teams have clearly established themselves as a favorite? I personally like what the Eagles defense is capable of this year.

I'm already well-aware of the possibility that I'll be on one of those late-season NFL commercials featuring the fans of awful teams. As soon as you see the Texans fan say, "Reggie Bush is overrated!", I'll be the guy in the green #5 jersey saying, "Donovan never needed T.O., McNabb to Pinkston can't be stopped!" But it's August. The angle of the summer sun allows me to hold a turd up to the sky and fool myself into thinking it's a precious stone of some sort. A smelly, lumpy, soft precious stone.
