The United States was just upset by Sweden in the semifinal game in women's hockey, or, as I like to call it, "hockey: emphasis on the ho."
Team USA led in shots on goal, 39-18. I think Swedish goalie Kim Martin may have actually been Tommy Salo with a lot of make-up and a very strategic tuck job under those hockey shorts.
The game was tied 2-2 through the second period, and stayed that way through the third period and overtime. It came down to a shootout, where Sweden scored two, and the United States could get nothing.
So Sweden's in the gold medal game, and at 3 o'clock on MSNBC, Canada faces Finland to determine exactly how tired Canada will be when they face Sweden in the Finals. Of course, I didn't think Sweden had a chance to win, either, so feel free to disregard everything I've said here. The gold medal game is on Monday.
