OK, no offense to Johnny Weir, but we have a new favorite Olympian.
Her name is Anne Abernathy, but she's more widely known, appropriately, as Grandma Luge. She's a 52-year-old luger from the Virgin Islands who is actually taking part in her sixth Olympics.
Four years ago, she suffered a terrible crash, a gruesome moving GIF of which can be found on her site. (Though, oddly, no reference of her actually being a grandmother.)
Luge is a crazy enough sport. But when you send a 52-year-old woman down the chute on one of those things? Man, we're hooked.
