<![CDATA[Albert Belle Can Now Only Stalk His Cellmate]]> Yesterday, Albert Belle, after being arrested and charged with stalking, pled guilty yesterday and will serve 90 days in jail. He has already served 29 of those, which means he has 61 left, though we bet Belle has added wrong.

The judge emphasized that if he had any more contact with the victim, he would sent him to prison, rather than jail; we respect the judge for resisting the addition of the phrase, "federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison." Belle apologized to the victim, whom, we remind you, had to deal with the fact that Belle had unknowingly installed a GPS device on her car.

We are pleased that Belle confessed to his crime and will be have a couple of months to think it over, though we still think guards should keep an eye out for Jason Grimsley, who may try to break in and bust Belle out. Though he could probably find his way toward the jail on his own, actually.

<![CDATA[Albert Belle Is Not Subtle About This Stalking Business]]> In case you have forgotten, former slugging psycho Albert Belle has been in jail since May for stalking a woman whom he once paid as a professional escort. Well, yesterday Belle plead guilty to stalking and will be sentenced in a month. He faces a potential sentence of two to eight-and-a-half years for the charge, though the judge could just give him probation. Of course, even if he does that, Belle will have to serve 90 days more, for violating the terms of his bond.

In his allocution yesterday, Belle admitted not only to making hang-up phone calls to the woman, but also placing a GPS tracking device on her car in January. When she confronted him about it — "hey, Albert, about that beeping sound my car's always making ..." — he threatened her. To Belle's eternal credit, his wife has backed him up on this, even claiming that she made all the phone calls.

Interestingly enough, we haven't heard from Jason Grimsley — a famous Belle clean-up man — about his potential culpability in the GPS plot. Maybe he'll say he did it. Though we suppose he has his own problems.

<![CDATA[Do Not Call This Man Joey]]> It is good to see that everybody's favorite Happy Rainbow Unicorn Albert Belle is keeping himself busy in retirement.

Former major-league player Albert Belle was arrested Wednesday and accused of making harassing phone calls to his ex-girlfriend. ... In February, Belle was arrested and charged with felony stalking/harassment. Belle's former girlfriend had filed a complaint in January accusing him of stalking.

That's his mugshot, by the way. Belle, who is eight years younger than Julio Franco, should be arraigned right about now in Arizona. When he was arrested in February, a judge ordered him to stay away from the ex-girlfriend and be electronically monitored. Question: Would he be more offended if you called him "Joey," or "O.J.?"

<![CDATA[GPS: Great Player Stalking]]> Remember earlier when there weren't a lot of details available on what Albert Belle actually did to be arrested for stalking? Well, with thanks to Saved by the Blog, that situation has been rectified.

According to a statement filed by police, Albert, in addition to repeatedly threatening his lady-friend, actually used a GPS device to stalk her. The woman told investigators that she found a GPS tracking device that had fallen off of her car in January. She says that Albert had been showing up everywhere she went, and believes that he placed the device on her car. He also left a message on her answering machine apologizing for doing "all that tracking stuff." So good luck with the case, Albert.

When the AP asked him for comment, Albert said, "You didn't write a story about my Hall of Fame induction. You guys never report the good stuff that I do."

I'm not sure if he's referring to something that's currently happening in Darren Daulton's alternate universe, but Albert only got 40 of the necessary 390 votes to get into the hall. But you know what, in a tip of the cap to both Darren Daulton and Albert Belle: Congratulations, Albert, on your induction to the hall of fame.
