Then I realized that there are ticket brokers everywhere around Wrigley and I didn't need your guy.

This is not that serious. Let's move on. Cripes. Oh and I saw Steve McMichael at Gibson's tonight and one of my very drunk friends told him "Great job at Wrigley last year." I about pissed my pants. McMichael just laughed. Then we got in our cabs and went on with the night. See that is real life this is just commenting for me. So I can move on...

"This ubiquity has succeeded for good reason. It's simply easier -not to mention cheaper- to sit on the couch on Sunday afternoon and flip instantaneously from soccer in South Africa to PGA Tour golf to your favorite MLB game than to trek out to an actual sporting event. We are lazy and, in this economy, stingy, and when the TV and internet bring us more and better options, we jump- or really lie back -to that course. And to be honest, we can't blame ourselves for choosing the logical better option.
What we lose, and we certainly lose something because when we make a choice we fundamentally pass up on something, is that unquantifiable sensation of actually going to the game in person. We as sports fans have become jaded by the information inundation and the endless highlight reels."

Arguing for people to go to more games is an interesting stance, but like you said, nowadays it's not very smart considering the circumstances. I want to see the rest, or at least know that there's a real argument here.

Just watched a crappy movie and I'm not sure, but it sounds like the guy in the apartment above me is pissing all over the floor.
And I haven't even started drinking yet.

I understand; I run my own business and sometimes get weird comments and inquiries from customers about my product. But, rather than publicly humiliating them or "busting their balls," I chuckle to myself, shake my head and address their concerns.
AJ is in a tough spot, it is hard to follow the original or founder of anything. Just ask Louis the Pious or Sammy Hagar. AJ can't just spend his time pretending to be Will. But, everyday he has to deal with the people who love Deadspin and feel they have something invested in it, and he knows that has nothing to do with him, that it is all because of Will. What he, or anyone in his place, needs to do is ignore it. But that isn't what AJ did, instead he acted like a petulant child anytime his readership questioned him or expected anything from him.

Someone brought it up earlier and it didnt get much play, but when the change went down it was all puppy dogs and ice cream for AJ. Now that some feathers have been ruffled, its "He's an asshole, this place was better before I got kicked off."

And thats not a commentary on his writing as a whole, since I obviously started reading Deadspin for a reason but, lets be real, its the "Personal Musing of Will Leitch Because I can Do It" feature.
To continually rail against the site while extol the virtues of Leitch, while that feature is a part of it, seems a bit disingenuous.

In reality, it's just a blip, impermanent as much of the web, be it Buddyhead, the NUMA NUMA guy, or LOLcats. Or, to reference a favourite of my favourite Gawker blog (Fleshbot), it's how Burning Angel can have a sixth anniversary, in 2008, when clearly it was six in 2006, if not 2005.
Nothing on the net last. Except post-Craig's List Casual Encounters herpes & the Drudge Report.

Onto to more important things: I am very excited thinking about Rasheed Wallace on the Celtics. And I'm not sure if it is because I think he will help or that I am imagining the comedy of it.

The Celtics would win another championship if that happened.

Is there any truth to this? and does anyone have any good recipes for babies?

I wonder what Will's up to about now? I read the paperback version of his book back in March while on vacation, and had a new appreciation of what he did to start up Deadspin. It sucks that Leitch leaving was really the jumping-of-the-shark moment that many people view it as. I liked Will, and he's bailed me out with my blog more than once in it's two years of existence. He was great for DS, and I enjoy reading anything the guy puts on paper/screen.
The point is, AJ isn't Will.
If you expected AJ to turn into Will a year ago, sorry. There's some stuff that AJ's done that I have enjoyed (mainly the softball stories and Deleted Scenes...some of it. Couldn't give a shit about a Korean wanting to interview him.), and there's stuff that's utter shit. I'm not all for killing off commenters, but in the end, Deadspin isn't Will's. It isn't our's. It's AJ's now, and the guy owes you and I nothing.

1. Denton's income is from ad revenue.
2. Ad revenue comes from pageviews.
3. 80% or more of the pageviews come from the commentariat (I'm guessing).
4. Denton mandates policies that stifle the commentariat and drive away viewers.
5. Profit?

Either way, the credulity is questionable, to say the least.

80% or more of the pageviews come from the commentariat (I'm guessing).
This is the fundamental misunderstanding.
